Terms of Use

Effective date: October 5, 2026 · Last updated: October 5, 2026

Please read these Terms carefully. They explain what you can expect from Decide It and what we expect from you.

About these Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Decide It (the “App”), a mobile app where you create everyday questions and your friends vote on them. The App is operated by Decide It, Brazil (“we”, “us”).

By creating an account or using the App you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.

Your account and minimum age

Minimum age. You must be at least 13 years old to use Decide It. Where the law of your country sets a higher minimum age to use online services or to consent to the processing of personal data (for example 16 in some European Union countries), you must be at least that age. If you are below the age of majority where you live, you confirm that you have your parent’s or guardian’s permission where the law requires it.

  • You sign in only with Sign in with Apple or Continue with Google. The Apple or Google account must be yours, and each account can have one Decide It account. Apple and Google handle your sign-in under their own terms; we don’t receive your password.
  • Your profile has a name, an @username (3 to 20 lowercase letters, numbers, dots or underscores) and an optional photo. Keep it truthful and don’t impersonate anyone.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your device and your Apple or Google account secure.

How Decide It works

  • A question has a title (3 to 140 characters) and 2 to 4 options, each with text and optionally a photo. You set a deadline between 15 minutes and 24 hours, and you can send it to friends or share a link.
  • Each person has one vote per question, and it is final. Voters may add a take: a text note (up to 280 characters) or an audio recording (up to 30 seconds).
  • Golden Rule: the scoreboard and the takes stay hidden until you have voted. The person who created the question sees them from the start and doesn’t vote.
  • The creator announces the verdict, at any time or when the deadline ends. Questions close automatically at the deadline.

We may add, change or remove features over time.

Your content

“Your content” means what you create or upload in the App: questions, options, photos, votes, takes (text and audio), reactions and profile information. You keep all rights you have in it.

You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display and transmit your content, only as needed to run, secure and improve the App and to show it to the people who can see it. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that other users have made on their own.

Who can see your content. Your questions reach the friends you send them to and anyone who opens your share link and joins. Anyone who has the link can join the question, so share it only with people you trust. Results and takes are visible to people who have voted (and to you as creator). People you have blocked, and people who blocked you, are excluded from what you see of each other. We can’t prevent someone from taking a screenshot or recording their screen.

You confirm that you have the right to share the photos and audio you upload, and that you won’t upload images or recordings of other people in private situations without their permission.

Rules of conduct

Decide It is for friendly, everyday decisions. When using the App you must not post, send or do any of the following:

  • Hate: content that attacks or demeans people because of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar traits.
  • Harassment: bullying, threats, intimidation, or using questions to humiliate or rank a specific person.
  • Sexual content: nudity or sexually explicit material. Any sexual content involving minors is strictly forbidden, and we will report it to the authorities.
  • Violence and illegal content: graphic violence, promotion of self-harm, or anything that is illegal or encourages illegal activity.
  • Private information of others, such as addresses, phone numbers or documents, shared without their consent.
  • Spam and scams: ads, unsolicited bulk invitations, fraud, malware or misleading links.
  • Impersonation of another person or organization.
  • Abuse of the service: automated access or scraping, creating accounts in bulk, reverse engineering, or getting around limits (including the weekly S.O.S. limit and other rate limits).

Reporting, blocking and moderation

  • Report: inside the App you can report a question, a take or a profile, choosing a reason (hate, harassment, sexual content, spam or other).
  • Block: blocking someone ends your friendship and limits what you and that person see of each other in the App, for example in search and in the lists of voters and takes.
  • Moderation: we have zero tolerance for abusive content. We review reports and may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts, with or without notice depending on severity. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours.
  • Anonymous mode doesn’t shield anyone from these rules: we can identify the author of reported content internally to enforce them.
  • We keep records of reports and may share information with authorities when the law requires it or to protect someone’s safety.

S.O.S.

When you create a question you can mark it S.O.S. to ask your friends for urgent attention; the notification is sent with high priority. Each person can use S.O.S. once per week (weeks run Monday to Sunday, Brasília time). Friends can turn off “Receive S.O.S.” in Settings, in which case they get your request as a regular notification.

S.O.S. is not an emergency service. Never use it for medical, safety or other emergencies. Call your local emergency number instead.

Vote privacy: public or anonymous

When creating a question, the creator chooses how votes are shown:

  • Public: people who can see the results can see who voted for each option and who wrote each take.
  • Anonymous: other users, including the creator, don’t see who voted for what or who wrote each take. You only see your own. Anonymous questions don’t count toward the Lifesavers ranking.

Anonymous doesn’t mean untraceable. The mask applies to other users, not to us: to enforce one vote per person, handle reports and respond to valid legal requests, our systems keep the link between your account and your vote. Your voice in an audio take, or context, can also give you away.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in the App (Settings → Delete account and data), which is immediate and permanent, or by following the steps on our Delete account and data page. That page also explains what is erased.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or the law, or if your use puts other people or the service at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (for example liability, governing law and the limited licence to copies already shared) will continue to apply.

Third-party services and app stores

The App relies on third-party providers (for example to sign you in, store data and deliver notifications), described in our Privacy Policy. These Terms are between you and us only. Apple and Google are not responsible for the App, its content, support or any claims about it. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms for iOS users.

Intellectual property

The App, its name, design and software belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the App as allowed by these Terms. Feedback you send us may be used freely, without obligation to you.

Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.

Decide It is for fun and everyday choices. Results reflect your friends’ opinions, not professional advice: don’t rely on them for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions. We don’t review user content in advance, we don’t endorse it, and we are not responsible for what other users post or do.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the App, from content posted by users or from the conduct of other users. Our total liability to you for any claim related to the App is limited to US$ 20 or the amount you paid the App in the previous 12 months, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, or your mandatory consumer rights where you live.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give notice in the App or by other appropriate means before they take effect. If you keep using the App after the change takes effect, you accept the new Terms; if you don’t agree, you can delete your account.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, and disputes will be handled by the courts of the place where you live, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have to use the courts or laws of the place where you live.
