Delete account and data
You can delete your Decide It account and all the data tied to it at any time.
Delete your account in the app
This is the fastest way. Deletion is immediate and permanent: there is no grace period and we can’t restore the account afterwards.
- Open Decide It and go to your profile, then Settings.
- Tap Delete account and data.
- Confirm. You are signed out and your data is erased.
Lost your phone or deleted the App? Reinstall it, continue with the same Apple or Google account and follow the steps above.
No longer have the app? Ask by email
If you can’t open the App, ask us to delete your account and data:
- Send an email to contact.decideit@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my account and data”.
- Write from the email address registered on the account (the one from your Apple or Google sign-in) and, if you remember it, include your @username. If you used Sign in with Apple with a private relay address, tell us so and, if you can, send from the Apple ID email.
- We may ask you to confirm it’s you, for example by replying from that registered email address.
We will complete the deletion and reply within 30 days. Write to us now.
What is erased
- Your account and sign-in: your email, your user ID from Apple or Google, and the login record. Deleting your Decide It account does not delete your Apple or Google account.
- Your profile: name, @username and profile photo (the image file is deleted).
- Your questions: including their options, option photos, the list of people they were sent to, and all votes, takes (text and audio files) and reactions that other people left on them. Other users will no longer see those questions.
- Your activity on other people’s questions: your votes, your takes (text and audio files) and your reactions. Scoreboards of those questions change accordingly.
- Your social data: friendships and friend requests, and the blocks you created.
- Your settings and technical records: push tokens, pending notifications and S.O.S. usage records.
What may be kept
- Reports about abuse that were filed about content or accounts, and reports you filed. They are kept without a link to your deleted account as the reporter, for safety and legal reasons, for up to 12 months after the report is reviewed.
- Records the law requires us to keep, such as certain access logs, and data needed to respond to legal requests or to defend legal claims.
- Backups and logs at our providers, which are overwritten or expire after up to 30 days. We don’t restore deleted accounts from them.
- Copies outside our control: records Apple or Google keep about your sign-in under their own policies, and screenshots or recordings other people made.
